Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA)
Most applicants seeking to visit Canada must either obtain a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). US citizens and green card holders are not required to get either.
Generally, applicants from the European Union, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand are not required to obtain visas and need to submit an ETA application online instead. The cost is currently $7 and is decided quickly for most applicants. Applicants with criminal convictions or previous Canadian refusals may need to provide additional documentation and wait longer in order to obtain a decision on an ETA.
Travellers from other countries may need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to enter and stay in Canada for up to 6 months. A TRV is issued to someone visiting family or friends within Canada, a business-person, a tourist, a short-term student (for studies of under 6 months), or a person transiting through Canada.

More about Pathway to Canada
and how we can help.
I have known the Pathway team since 2014. I got my permanent residency and then filed for my citizenship through this company. In both cases the process went so smoothly and I got approved ahead of the scheduled time. I have dealt with a few of the Pathway team members, they are rock stars. Very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable.

The Pathway team has been great! I was incredibly stressed about the process in the beginning but they stayed professional and reassuring the whole way through the application process. Just got my notice of PR status today! And will definitely be using them in the future should we decide to pursue citizenship.

We are so grateful for the experience we had with Pathway to Canada in Kelowna. Everyone is so professional and on top of responding to any questions or concerns we had. Our consultant walked us through the process in a way that was helpful and encouraging. We honestly could not of done this long process without the staffs expertise and guidance. We will forever be grateful for their work with the immigration process and will always recommend Pathway to Canada to anyone with immigration needs or questions.

The world of Canadian Permanent Visas is an ever-changing labyrinth of endless paperwork and obstacles to be overcome, needless to say we could not have done it without the amazing Pathway team! It has been a long road but we are so grateful for their guidance, caring service, thousands of questions answered, and hand-holding throughout this entire process. Their professionalism and warmth helped ease our worried minds when waiting was hard, but all we really had to do was wait, they did all the hard labour for us and we are so indescribably grateful. If it hadn't been for them we would have given up long ago! Thank you a million times over!

The team at Pathway are absolutely incredible! they always answer in a really short period of time, they are always really prepared and are able to suggest their clients the best options for them in order to stay/come to Canada. Without them, maybe me and my family would not even be here! We could not ask for anything better! We truly recommend this place for all those people like us that are seeking a way to become part of this great country!

I have only good things to say about Pathway to Canada. They are transparent and open, hardworking, quick and communicative, supportive and reassuring throughout the entire process. If you have concerns, they will address them quickly and thoughtfully and help you to feel fully seen and supported through what can often be a difficult process and waiting period. You get to know them personally and they will have open brainstorming discussions with you to come up with a plan that is best suited for your situation / most likely to be approved. They supported me in bringing my husband (from Uganda) to Canada and the whole process from application submission to him arriving took less than 8 months.

This company is run by excellent people who have always been there to help me with any questions and issues I have had. They are well versed in all the legal aspects and always had answers for everything. They are willing to go far beyond what they need to do. This was proved beyond a doubt when the pandemic caught me outside Canada without my permanent residence process completed. They helped me to work with Immigration to get back into the country and even found a wonderful hotel near my parents' home where i could spend my 15 day quarantine. Throughout the process, the pandemic, and numerous delays, they kept me up-to-date on everything that was happening. And now I am very happy to say that I have now received approval of my Permanent Residence in Canada. I am sure that without them, this would have been a much longer and more troubled process.

We considered 4 different groups last year to assist us in this endeavor. Thankfully we agreed to engage Pathway to Canada and there is NO doubt the others would have never done as much heavy lifting as this group has. It is an understatement to say ours was a complicated one. Because we traveled extensively we had to deal with issues that most generally would not deal with and the Pathway to Canada did magnificently given our unique circumstances.
